Bronze Mirror Column Wraps for an Oceanfront Penthouse
This oceanfront penthouse on North Ocean Blvd in Pompano Beach has floor to ceiling windows on almost every wall, and the structural columns between them were the only solid surfaces left in the living areas. The goal was to make those columns disappear into the view instead of breaking it up.
ACG Glass & Metals wrapped the columns in the living room, dining room and sitting area with 1/4 inch bronze frameless mirror, cut in tall strips at about 113 inches high so each face runs from floor to ceiling in one piece. The bronze tint picks up the water and the sky, so from most angles the columns read as part of the glass line.
The same package added 1/4 inch clear frameless mirror in the primary bedroom, clear mirror on the closet and bedroom doors, and clear frameless mirrors in the powder room and guest bath. Every piece was measured after the walls were finished and installed with shop drawings for the general contractor.
