Storefront glass replaced
without replacing the frame
Most storefront frames outlive their glass. If the aluminum is straight and still anchored, we reglaze it in place. We measure the opening, order the glass to match what is already there, and set it around your trading hours across Martin, Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade.

Reglazing beats replacing, when the frame allows it
A broken lite does not mean a new storefront. Aluminum framing is normally the part of the system that lasts, and the glass is the part that gets hit, gets old or loses its seal. When the frame is sound we keep it, and you pay for glass and labor instead of a whole new front.
On S Military Trail we reglazed eight panels and two doors into the frames that were already up, and repainted them in the same visit. At The Singer Hotel the new glass went into the existing window frames with no framing work at all.
What we check before we quote
- The aluminum is straight and the corners are tight
- The glazing pocket and the stops are intact
- The anchors into the substrate still hold
- The frame is not corroded through at the sill
If any of those fail we tell you, and we quote a new frame instead. Setting new glass into a frame that has moved is how a job comes back.
What we replace
Glass we take out and put back
The same trade covers the front of the building and the inside of it.
Storefront lites and doors
Fixed lites, door glass and sidelites in aluminum storefront systems.
Spandrel panels
The opaque panels at floor lines and above ceilings, matched to the vision glass so the elevation stays even.
Impact and laminated glass
Replaced like for like. Impact glass comes out and impact glass goes back in, with the approval that the opening was permitted under.
Failed insulated units
A fogged unit has lost its seal. It cannot be cleaned from the inside, so the unit gets remade and swapped.
Interior glass and partitions
Office fronts, conference rooms and glass doors, including the hardware that comes off with the panel.
Service and pass-through windows
Counters, reception windows and fixed interior panels, like the ones on North Military Trail.
Matching
A replaced lite should not be findable from the sidewalk
Glass is not one product. Before we order we identify the thickness, the tint, the coating and the build, because a panel that is a shade off or reflects differently is the first thing anyone notices.
- Thickness and build: monolithic, laminated or insulated
- Tint and low-E coating, matched to the surrounding lites
- Tempered where the code calls for safety glazing
- Impact make-up where the opening was permitted as impact
Impact glass is a code question, not a preference
If an opening was permitted with impact-rated glazing, the replacement has to be impact-rated too. In Miami-Dade and Broward that means an approved product, because those two counties sit in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone. Martin and Palm Beach follow the wind-borne debris requirements of the Florida Building Code.
On E Hallandale Beach Blvd the replacement was 9/16 inch clear Solarban 70XL laminated impact, set into ES Windows 8000 and 9000 Series frames in AAMA 2605 gray.

What we can promise and what we cannot
The bid
Commercial bids go out from 48 hours once we have the opening sizes and a photo of the frame. If we need to field measure first we say so when you call.
The glass
Tempered and laminated glass is made to order, not pulled off a shelf. We give you the date when we place the order, not after it slips.
The install
We can schedule outside your trading hours. At Orlebar Brown in Bal Harbour Shops we installed at night so the mall never closed.
Our office runs Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. We do not advertise a 24 hour line, because we would rather tell you the truth about when we can be there than take a call we cannot answer.

What a storefront swap actually involves
Most of the work is not the glass. It is protecting the opening, getting the old lite and the old sealant out without damaging the frame, and setting the new one plumb before anything is sealed back up.

That is a different job and we price it as one. We fabricate and install storefront systems from Trulite, Aldora, Oldcastle, ES Windows, Coral and US Aluminum, bought direct, so a damaged section can be rebuilt to match rather than patched.
