Glass Railing | East Oakmont Circle Residence, Hialeah

Standoff Glass Stair Railing in Matte Black

The stair in this East Oakmont Circle home in Hialeah sits under a tall glass block window, and the railing had to keep the stair safe without blocking that light from the hallway below.

ACG Glass & Metals installed an interior glass railing in 1/2 inch clear glass, fixed to the side of the stair stringer and landing on round standoffs. Mounting the glass on the face of the structure keeps the treads clear and lets the panels follow the rake of the stair up to the second floor.

A low profile cap runs over the top edge of the glass from the first tread to the landing, and all of the standoffs and the cap are finished in matte black to match the trim in the house. Sunlight from the window now passes straight through the guard and down the stair.
