Low Iron Glass Shelves for a Condo Bar
This waterfront condominium on S Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach has a bar niche with a wood panel back wall, a stone counter and a wine cooler. The shelves above it had to hold bottles and glassware without adding brackets or posts to the clean wood panel.
ACG Glass & Metals supplied three shelves in 3/4 inch Starphire low iron clear tempered glass. Starphire removes the green edge of standard clear glass, so the shelves read almost colorless against the wood and the warm cove light.
Each shelf sits in a U channel recessed into the wall, so the glass appears to float with no visible support. Shop drawings were prepared before fabrication, and the work closed with caulking and the standard 1 year workmanship warranty. The bar lighting was by others.
