Glass
Every partition is tempered safety glass. Choose the thickness, then the look and how much privacy you want.
10 mm. For most doors and panels.
12 mm. Stiffer, for tall and wide frameless panels.
Want privacy only at eye level? Acid-etched glass can be a band across the panel, with clear glass above and below.
Clear
Standard tempered glass, with the light green tint you see on the edge. Privacy: low.
Low iron
Extra clear, without the green tint. Colors behind it look true. Privacy: low.
Gray
A neutral smoky tint that softens the light and hides more. Privacy: medium.
Bronze
A warm tint that pairs with wood, brass and earth tones. Privacy: medium.
Acid-etched
Satin frosted finish. Light passes, shapes blur. Privacy: high.
Acid-etched low iron
Frosted and bright white, without the green tint. Privacy: high.

How much does a glass partition cost?
Every partition is made to measure, so the price depends on its width and height, the style (frameless, grid, steel, sliding or barn door), the type of door, the glass and the hardware finish. Frameless or grid: which one should I choose?
Frameless partitions disappear: only slim channels at the floor and ceiling, ideal when you want the room to feel bigger. Grid partitions add thin metal bars over the glass, the loft or steel-window look, and they frame the view. Both use the same tempered safety glass. See the grid finishes.
What glass do you use?
Tempered safety glass, 3/8″ or 1/2″ thick depending on the system and the size of the panels. It comes in clear, low iron (without the green edge) and gray, and any of them can be acid-etched for privacy.
Can a glass partition give me privacy?
Yes. Acid-etched glass lets the light through and blurs what is behind it, and it can cover the whole panel or only a band at eye level. Gray glass also hides more than clear. See the clear and acid-etched comparison.
What kind of door can a glass partition have?
A swing door on pivots or hinges, a top-hung sliding door, a barn door on an exposed rail, or a sliding wall where several panels open. Single or double, with the handle in the same finish as the rest of the hardware.
Does a glass partition block sound?
It cuts a lot of everyday noise, which is why they work so well for home offices. A glass partition is not a soundproof room: the gaps around a door let some sound through. Tell the estimator if quiet matters, and we plan the doors and seals for it.
Do glass partitions need a permit?
Most interior glass partitions do not change the structure of the house. When your project does need a permit, we tell you during the estimate and take care of it. See permits and approvals.
