Glass Railing | Rodeo Drive Residence

Interior and Exterior Glass Railings in Matte Black

The owners of this Wellington home wanted the two story entry to stay open, so the entire stair and landing package was built in glass instead of a solid or picket railing. The same language was carried outside to the two upper balconies.

Both stair runs use a standoff mounted system, with the glass fixed to the side of the stringer on round matte black standoffs so the treads read as a floating line from the room below. The upper landing switches to a base shoe, which carries a continuous run of glass around the opening and keeps a clean shadow line at the floor. A low profile matte black top cap ties the two systems together and runs uninterrupted from the first tread to the second floor.

Outside, the north and south balconies use the same base shoe detail so nothing interrupts the view of the pool and the tree line. Every panel was templated on site after the flooring and the exterior tile were finished, and all hardware was specified in matte black to match the black window and door frames already in the house.
